(Philadelphia) – Charles M. Gibbs, Esq. of McMonagle Perri McHugh Mischak Davis received the prestigious J. Austin Norris award from the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia at their annual awards & scholarship gala on May 20, 2023. The Barristers’ Association presents this award annually to an attorney who has demonstrated distinguished service to the association, the legal profession, and the community at large.
The award was named for J. Austin Norris, a strong advocate for equality of opportunity. Norris used political power to advance the status of Black lawyers with the expectation that those lawyers would bring about further social change.
Gibbs is a prominent trial attorney with a devotion to public service. He focuses his practice on criminal defense, complex personal injury cases, family law, and election and municipal matters. He is a former president of the Barristers’ Association and the co-chair of the City Policy Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association. The Philadelphia Board of Judges appointed him to the Board of Directors of City Trusts in 2021.
