Steven Patton is an experienced trial lawyer with an incredible record of success at trial. At McMonagle Perri, his practice focuses on the litigation of personal injury cases. He regularly handles cases involving catastrophically injured victims, complex investigations, and high-profile matters.
Mr. Patton has secured millions in verdicts and settlements for injured victims. He represents families and individuals who are dealing with the fallout from catastrophic injuries and wrongful deaths. He has spent the last decade trying cases to judges and juries and has a wide range of experience handling motor vehicle crashes, defective products, negligent security, premises liability, construction accidents, and malicious prosecution. His cases have been featured in media outlets including the Philadelphia Inquirer, CNN, and the New York Times.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Patton was a prosecutor in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where he was then the youngest assistant district attorney ever appointed to the office’s prestigious homicide unit. He prosecuted cases ranging from manslaughter to first degree murder and oversaw the investigation, charging, and prosecution of all vehicular homicide cases in Philadelphia. In addition, he tried to jury verdict numerous cases including drug offenses, shootings, and home invasion robberies.
He is also an adjunct professor at the Villanova University School of Law, where he instructs students in trial advocacy and evidence and served for five years as the director of the law school’s national trial team. He remains active in trial advocacy education and has coached nationally ranked trial teams at the high school, college, and law school levels. For the past 15 years he has served as the head coach of the mock trial program at Roman Catholic High School.
Raised in a working-class union family, Mr. Patton is a lifelong Philadelphian. He is a member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and has been selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star List, an honor given to those who are in the top 2.5 percent of lawyers in Pennsylvania under the age of 40.
